About Kerry Joy McGehee

I'm passionate about taking pictures of nature, close-up, where there is so much beauty and fascination to behold. Thank you for taking a look at my work!
I'm a life-long photographer first camera love at age 9 with my Kodak Instamatic! I developed my craft early on, due to my mother's hobby influence (I don't remember a time when my mom did NOT have her camera with her), and later in life by my amazing garden and the beautiful surroundings of life in Northern California. I relish in taking pictures of my subjects close-up, showing what's often over-looked. I feel one can best understand and appreciate the delicacy and beauty in nature, if one would only look closer. My garden's fertile soil is a favorite place to catch those exceptional moments. I also enjoy landscape photography with so many impressive views in California, and the clean, creative lines architecture provides through my lens. My artistic influences are painters Botticelli, Van Gogh, Maxfield Parrish, Marc Chagall, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keefe, colorful nature photographer Eliot Porter, Macro artist Harold Davis, and the astounding work of the National Geographic photographers. I'd like to give a special shout out to Linda McCartney, may she RIP, who's cool photography perspective I embraced in my early teens.
